
The Electronics Research Institute, in the presence of Dr. Sherine Abdel Qader Muharram, President of the Institute, participated in the activities of the Cairo ICT2022 International Technology Exhibition, which is organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research at the Egypt International Exhibition Center in New Cairo from November 27 to 30, 2022. The exhibition pavilion was opened in the presence of Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Professor Dr. Hisham Farouk, Assistant Minister for Digital Transformation.
The Institute participated in many research outputs for researchers, including a smart system for monitoring and controlling agricultural lands that was patented by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology. The device aims to improve the quality of crops and increase productivity, in addition to providing irrigation water, fertilizers, and controlling pesticides using the Internet of Things system, and a device A programmable audio and visual thermal alarm to protect car engines from overheating. This device is designed with digital technology and a sensor independent of the car’s sensors. It can be programmed on any car and gives an audible and visual warning if the engine temperature exceeds the safety limit. It also produces a biosensor for rapid detection of viruses and bacteria. In biological samples and also a product for vital signs sensor and human lung water level measurement.
It is an electronic circuit to protect electric motors from overloads. It is a device that can be used to protect three- and single-phase motors with different capacities, with the ability to maintain a display of the disconnection current on the screen after disconnection. The device is also equipped with a screen to display the current current, the disconnection current and time, and indicator lamps for disconnection and operation.
The institute also participated in a display of models of LED floodlights, which are lighting fixtures based on LED technology with different powers ranging from one watt to 800 watts. These lights give a high luminous value and lead to a reduction in electricity consumption of up to 80% of the value of normal consumption.
The institute also participated in a heating device directed by electromagnetic waves to eliminate the red palm weevil inside palm trunks. An artificial intelligence energy saving device that contributes to reducing periods of ineffective operation in production lines, as well as a highly efficient hybrid laboratory water distillation device using thermoelectric energy generators (TEG) and solar collectors, which contributes to recycling wasted energy during the condensation process.
This is in addition to displaying the outputs of entrepreneurs through the technology incubator program (Tariq), technology transfer and marketing offices (TECO), and emerging companies.

The Minister of Higher Education reviews a report on the participation of the Electronics Research Institute in the activities of the Arab-African Forum for Technology and Innovation
Reviewed by Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, presented a report by Dr. Sherine Abdel Qader Muharram, President of the Electronics Research Institute, about the institute’s participation in the activities of the third edition of the Arab-African Forum for Technology and Innovation at Zayed University in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, in cooperation with Technospace, during the period from 11 to 16 November, with the participation of many African countries. Including: Ghana, Uganda, Namibia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, and Cameroon.
The report indicated that more than 50 teams from Egypt, the Emirates, Kenya, Uganda, and Cameroon participated in the forum competition, with a total of nearly 150 contestants from various universities, adding that the forum is the first African forum that brings together African students from age levels ranging from 5 years to Post-university age, also declared as an international Afro-Asian forum.
Dr. confirmed. Sherine stressed that the forum aims to encourage African school and university students; To find scientific and practical solutions to many of the challenges facing the world in the fields of agriculture, industry and health, through the use of modern technologies; To discover their innovative capabilities in various fields of technology, including: artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and mobile applications; To achieve Africa's vision of sustainable development, in addition to focusing on teaching the principles of entrepreneurship, explaining that the forum contributes to developing and strengthening Egypt's pioneering role in the African continent, and developing the bonds of friendship with the countries of the continent.
The head of the Electronics Research Institute also explained that the institute provided the required technical support for all aspects of the forum, as a number of specialized professors at the institute participated to arbitrate the scientific and artistic works submitted by the forum participants.
The opening and closing ceremony was attended by Mr. Khalid bin Al-Sheikh, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to the UAE, Mr. Zaki Kamadi, Ambassador of Uganda to the UAE, Mr. Andrew Tsebo, Consul of South Africa in Dubai, and Dr. Youssef Al-Samri, President of the Diplomatic Institute in the United Arab Emirates, and Dr. Ali Abu Al-Nour, Dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Science and Technology in Fujairah, and Dr. Amal Ibrahim Ali, Professor at the University of Sharjah and President of the International Club for Creative Industries, and Dr. Anisa Nokrashy, President of the Nour Foundation for Solidarity with Rural Women in the Kingdom of Morocco, and Dr. Muhammad Al-Husseini, Professor at the University of Sharjah, and Dr. Adel Abdo, Professor at the Faculty of Engineering, Assiut University, and Dr. Nabil Rashwan, President of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Club at Pharos University in Alexandria.
It is worth noting that the African Technology and Innovation Forum, in its first edition, was held at Assiut University, and in the second edition, at the Electronics Research Institute, and its fourth edition is scheduled to be held next year in the Kingdom of Morocco.
