First meeting of DLMEI

The industrial sector is considered the most important engine for economic growth as it contributes positively to the balance of GDP and the balance of experiences for all countries. The right climate for the industrial sector is absolutely necessary to provide better job opportunities, these new innovations, raise production rates, and achieve a higher standard of living. The main reason for progress in developed countries is industry and the most relationship between innovation and industry. It suffers from a weak link between research, innovation and development. Which reflects on the balance of imports and becomes several times the exports. The size of the world’s industrial economy is $ 1.4 trillion, with the electronics sector accounting for nearly 68% of communications, computer and information technology services. In 2013, the Egyptian government represented by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology will launch a strategy to support the electronics industry as an important engine for industrial growth in mixed manufacturing operations and how important this industry is and is reflected in various industrial sectors such as cars, computers, communications, petrochemicals, medical devices ... etc. The government's strategy in the electronics industry has found that its size at the present time is $ 2 billion annually, and is expected to reach $ 10 billion from 2020 and $ 60 billion from 2030, and this sector can help create 30,000 direct job opportunities and 120 thousand indirect job opportunities per year. ASRT's call for E-KTAs to present proposals for targeted alliances to address national problems and create strong links between research centers, universities, and industrial institutions are those that contribute significantly to industrial development. The call focused on establishing groups of partners working to develop innovation in the national industrial sector. In this context, ERI, with ASRTDP support, provides a network of a strong group of national competitors in the electronics industry from universities, research and non-governmental organizations, small and medium-sized companies to support innovation and technology to solve urgent national energy problems in providing the alliance an innovative solution in electricity in a system Smart meters, as well as another small and economical solar system solution and solution for harvesting thermal energy in electronic panels. The other problem that the coalition is tackling is the sensors in various applications such as gas sensors in industrial petrochemical applications, medical sensors in medical devices and a safety system using the electromagnetic waves of museums. The alliance includes 15 major partner partners in the electronics sector in Egypt. This includes: From universities: Cairo University, American University in Cairo, and Zewail City for Science and Technology and the Arab Economy for Science and Maritime Transport and from scientific research: Electronics Research Institute (ERI), Petroleum Research Institute (EPRI), and Center of Excellence for Science and Technology in Military Production (STCE) From the industry: The Arab Organization for Industrialization, the Electronics Factory - Electronics (AOIE), Banha Electronics Factory - Military Production and the Arab Computer Industry Company, Al-Kharafi Al-Khurafi Industrial Group (ACCM) and among the small international companies in the market: Sola in solar energy systems, and Bio Business in the field Medical applications and Nano Tech Egypt in pharmaceutical electronics such as sensors and local government authority: Industry Development Association (IDA), Ministry of Industry and NGOs from Etisalat Association. The coalition partners held several meetings to decide on the sectors and innovations that the coalition will work on with exclusive industrial products. Seven products were chosen with the approval of all partners. A ready-made or semi-ready test models were given the opportunity to transform for industry and the production sector. Excellent harmony is observed in these meetings. The industrial partners expressed their willingness to produce products in the production lines in the factories. NGOs and the Industrial Development Authority agreed to provide market demand studies, analysis and plans of action as well as laws and indicators that would help in marketing the products. </ p>
